SEL Initiative

In order to understand the big picture and role of social and emotional development, the Development Team created a summary graphic. This framework showcases how the Ashiwi Core Values form the basis of all learning, with social and emotional competencies serving as the skills to live the Values, leading to the outcomes found in the ZPSD Portrait of a Graduate.

 

In addition, the SEL Development Team has been developing curriculum, contextually aligned and connected to the six Portrait of a Graduate outcomes. The student and staff work is done both during intentional school time in addition to being integrated throughout the day. Families and community members are connected to this work through sharing expertise and lessons that students bring home. To track impact and inform social and emotional development efforts, data is collected and shared.
